Computer Animation is a challenging application in Computer Graphics & Visualisation. This symposium is designed to provide a forum for researchers, educators, and practitioners in this field to share their opinions. The symposium aims to identify presentations on Key research issues, review the current state-of-the-art developments, and outline future directions. This, embedded with the current research being undertaken in industry and academia, will provide coverage of the salient aspects and sub-areas of Computer Animation within the field of visualisation, computer-generated graphics, and beyond.This symposium seeks original paper projects that are either completed, or still in the production stage, that deal with, but are not limited to, the following topics:
- Motion Synthesis and motion capture
- Physics-based animation
- Vision techniques in animation
- Modelling in animation
- Rendering and lighting techniques
- Animation of deformable materials and characters
- Modelling and animation of heads, faces, and hair
- Animation of natural phenomena
- Real-time simulation used for visualisation
- Simulations for virtual reality, training, and online education
- Forensic animation and its applications
- Animation for Scientific and medical visualisation
